Whether you are looking for a weekend away with a difference, or doing the 65 mile Great Glen Way by boat, boot or bike, when planning your trip, be sure to consider the stunning location of Laggan, where Scottish Canals recently opened two new bothies and a grab and go café as part of the Scottish Scenic Routes initiative, as your overnight rest stop.
Laggan Locks offers beautiful views of Loch Lochy. With no minimum stay you can enjoy a good night’s sleep before getting back on your bike and there is even a floating gastro pub 100m away (March – October) for when you arrive after a hard days cycle.
Bonnie with a double bed, wood burning stove, sofa, coffee table, sink, two ring hob, fridge and kettle offers a one off experience for guests to enjoy.
Located at Laggan Locks on the Great Glen Way, you can cycle to Banavie and see iconic Neptune’s Staircase within 2 hours on gentle off-road tracks. Heading west, you will get to Fort Augustus off road on the flat in an hour or so. A passenger boat passes through every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (late June to end August) if you want to put your bike on the boat and cycle back for a great day out.
