This former lock-keepers cottage with it’s late 18th-Century exterior offers a beautiful insight into Highland heritage. Stepping inside, this unique holiday home has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard without losing any of its period charm.
There are double and twin bedrooms, a family bathroom and large kitchen with all the modern amenities you could need to enjoy your stay, including microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. There’s also a dining room, with a cosy sitting room complete with wood-burning stove across the hall. This family friendly cottage comes with a TV, CD and DVD player – perfect for keeping little ones entertained. Laggan Bridge Cottage truly offers a warm and welcoming home to come back to after a wonderful day enjoying the Highlands.
Just a five-minute drive from the cottage, guests can find the ruins of the historic Invergarry Castle before heading on to the Glengarry Castle Hotel which offers a delicious afternoon tea from the comfort of their regal drawing room. A further five minute drive along the Caledonian Canal brings you to the iconic Laggan Locks and the start of Loch Lochy. Our Cafe Kiosk at the Locks is the perfect spot to pick up a snack during your adventure around one of the Highland’s most famous walking and cycling routes. If you’re looking for more of a social hub, Fort August to the North (just a 7 minute drive) is home to a variety of quaint pubs and cosy restaurants, as well as the fascinating Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre.
